Spraying

I’ve French polished all my instruments until now. It’s a beautiful, repairable finish that requires no PPE or special equipment and let’s the wood sing. However it doesn’t like water or alcohol. And seeing as I’m making working instruments, I want something more durable. Sessions happen in pubs, and pubs mean spilled drinks and dirty hands (at least good pubs do).

So this little mahogany A-style will be the first of my instruments to be finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. I’m really excited to see how it looks when I’m done!
